One Punch Man is an anime that I came across during my endeavour to find an anime that is both fun and thrillingly awesome. That said, I think, after 12 episodes, I can confidently say that it is that...and more! The concept is nice and simple and everything about One Punch Man leaves you wanting more. I don't say these things lightly, but somehow a combination of fun, epic, funny and general awesomeness, has been discovered here.

The story takes place in the fictional metropolis of City Z. Apparently the world is in constant fear of monsters and other horrific creatures on a daily basis. The protagonist, Saitama, Mr One-Punch-Man himself, is an overly powerful hero that defeats monsters with relative ease. After unveiling his 'Hero training regime' to his new disciple Genos, there is still no reasonable explanation for his power. Genos, a cyborg with insane powers himself, is left reeling at how strong his master is. Saitama grows bored with his strength and is constantly searching for opponents that compare to himself. After joining the Heroes Association, Saitama and Genos and are assigned different rankings based on their physical and intellectual competencies. The plot develops as they carry out their tasks of monster destruction and hero growth.

I'm going to keep this short and simple. The animation and art quality are really good. There is even strategic use of actual photos of actual places as textures and backgrounds! Pretty neat! The story is simple and effective. There is plenty of action and plot build up too. Without delving too much into it, there are very few flaws. So few in fact, I'm not going to mention any.

One Punch Man has become somewhat of a symbol on the interwebs for displaying use of a hero that has no place to be a hero at all. Saitama's training is silly at best and basic strength and conditioning training in the least. But that is one thing that makes this anime great. Each episode is a battle between visual glory and fantastically simple plot points.  The anime is only new at this point, so I can't give a full review at this time. But I can say one thing...WATCH IT!

Conclusion

Just watch it. You won't regret it. If what I have said so far doesn't convince you...watch 1 episode and decide for yourself.
